Abstract

The article discusses the issues of motivating foreign students of a medical university to study the subject of pediatric dentistry in order to improve the efficiency of the educational process and responsible training of future specialists. It is well known that learning activities are most successful where they are maximally motivated. In psychological and pedagogical sciences, motivation is defined as a process by which a certain activity acquires a known personal meaning for an individual, creates the sustainability of his or her interest in it, and transforms externally set goals of the activity into internal needs of the individual. Thus, a student's realization of the opportunity to acquire a qualitative education is very closely related to his or her motivation. A certain system of specific facts forms motivation. Because the facts may change, motivation is a dynamic process. When trying to create and manage positive motivation in general, it is important to take into account the peculiarities of teaching a subject in a group of international students. Each of the foreign students is a representative of a particular culture, needs and values of the society from which they come. These needs and stereotypes have a significant impact on a young person's choice of a future profession. Forming a positive motivation for foreign students to study any subject requires the timely identification and consideration of these features. The teacher's task and his professionalism is to timely response to changes. Whether it's changes in the student contingent or in teaching methods, or even in the family circumstances of some of the students. If a teacher demonstrates that he or she is up-to-date by introducing new technologies into teaching and providing up-to-date information related to the content of the discipline, he or she motivates others by example. Nowadays, when the conditions for studying for foreign students in our country have changed significantly and become more distant, it is essential for universities to create an effective educational environment, stimulate innovation, organize support and assistance for students to ensure the quality and effectiveness of their education.
