Abstract

The article presents the use of feedback for improving the quality of the educational process and ensuring effective learning and creating a favorable academic environment. In order to improve the professional competences of future doctors and to introduce the knowledge gained in the course of studying the discipline into clinical medicine, starting in 2020, students of the degree “Master of Medicine” of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University are offered to study the elective course “Theoretical foundations of modern assisted reproductive technologies” on the basis of the educational and practical center “Microscopy” departments of histology, cytology and embryology, as well as on the basis of the auxiliary department of reproductive technologies of the “Prykarpattia Center of Human Reproduction”.The purpose of the study is to investigate the possibility of improving the quality of the educational process due to effective feedback in the process of studying the selective discipline “Theoretical foundations of modern assisted reproductive technologies”.After completing the study of the discipline in 2022–2023 s.y. and in 2023–2024 s.y. students were asked to complete a survey on the Google Forms platform. The questionnaire contained both closed questions to which a short yes/no answer can be given, as well as open detailed questions in which students actively highlighted problematic points in the educational process. 320 students took part in the survey. Based on the results of the survey in 2022–2023 a decision was made to reorganize the educational process in 2023-2024 and, accordingly, already in the results of the survey at the end of 2023–2024 AD. It was noted that 89.4% of listeners (out of 105 surveyed) rated the overall impression as “very liked”, and the rest – 10.6% as “rather liked”. Also, when answering questions about recommending this course to other students – 97.1% of respondents answered “yes”, and 2.9% answered “rather yes”.Effective feedback is primarily a tool for improving the educational process; it carries neither a positive nor a negative color. It is always neutral and serves for the effective transfer of information between the student and the teacher. Feedback provides a communication pathway that is key to creating a priority academic environment. A modern university should remain a platform for discussions, therefore the completeness of the transfer of information from the teacher to the student and vice versa will ensure the sustainable development of the university and the continuous educational process in it.
