THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF PHARMACIST DURING MARTIAL LAW: CONSUMER EXPERIENCE, CHALLENGES, AND PROSPECTS

Abstract

The challenges facing the pharmaceutical industry require high qualification of pharmaceutical specialists and their continuous professional development. Postgraduate education and continuing professional development activities play an important role in enhancing the competencies of pharmacists. The key to long-term relationships between learners and educational service providers is a positive consumer experience gained by the learner. During martial law, education not only provides knowledge and fosters personal development but it is also assign the role of a tool for psychological and social protection. However, the education system itself is vulnerable to the destructive effects of the armed conflict. Infrastructure is being destroyed, participants in the educational process are suffering, and obstacles to accessing education are emerging. Therefore, in the context of martial law, the research and consideration of the consumer experience gained by a specialist during postgraduate education and continuing professional development is of particular importance. The experience gained allows us to improve the training format, in particular by improving methodological and technical support.The aim of this work is to analyse the consumer experience of pharmacists during qualification enhancement and continuous professional development activities during martial law, and to identify promising directions for improving the format of these activities.In order to establish the consumer experience of the participants of the continuing professional development activities in the specialty “Pharmacy”, we determined their impressions of the course and its individual elements, expectations and problems, which they faced through a questionnaire.The results of a survey of pharmacists who were trained as part of postgraduate education and continuing professional development in 2022–2024 show that the majority of applicants positively assess the quality of training. Online lectures and testing with automatic verification were highly appreciated. However, problems with accessing materials due to technical obstacles were noted. The primary priority for participants is the accessibility of information and the ability to study without taking time off from work.
